In 2009 Sketchbook with be published bi-monthly: February, April, June, August, October, and December.  The publication date for each issue is the last day of the month.  Submissions are due on the 20th of the month of publication.

The March / April 2009 Sketchbook contains poems, art and features from 98 writers / artists from 14 countries including: Australia, Canada, China, India, Jamaica, Japan, Netherlands, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Trinidad and Tobago, United Kingdom, United States. The Editors extend a warm welcome to all of you!

Featured this month is the fifth installment of Eiko Yachimoto's Hisajo in the Light of English Haikai Movement: Chapter 4: Is a haijin a poet?  Is a haiku art?—March / April 30, 2009 Sketchbook.

Vaughn Seward has selected 24 March / April 2009 Sketchbook issue.  Be sure to read the notes link at the bottom of each selection; the notes contain interesting ideas about the rehnai links and various modes of composing a renhai.

Rengay Through The Seasons by Vaughn Seward features rengay numbers twenty-seven through thirty-five of the year long rengay project; guest writers are Betty Kaplan, US and John McDonald, UK.

Sketchbook is now open for May / June 2009 submissions. Remember, the 20th of each publication month is the deadline for open submissions to the poetry pages.
