Vania Stefanova, BH   Haiku   three fir cones in my handful— autumn     amadou on birchbark— we breathe with the flame     afternoon prose— behind my glasses barely drizzles     close my eyes in the twilight of the chapel— sunny swath     only one beetle— the sparrow grass bends    Haiku; "heart(s) Haiku Thread "east wind" Kukai     About Vania Stefanova, BG   Vania Stefanova was born on December 14, 1969 in Sliven – Bulgaria. She has a Master Degree from the University “St.St. Kiril i Metodi” in Veliko Tarnovo, in Bulgarian philology. She has worked as an editor at “ArsMedia”; she is also the author of two poetry books. In 2007 she experimented in yugen and started to write haiku, some of which are in English. Her poems were published in Crosspoints (Кръстопът), Dictum, eLit, Forum for literature “Глоси”, including its section for experimental haiku and short forms (in Bulgarian). Her haiku was awarded in international poetry competition (Melnik, 2009). This is Vania Stefanova's first appearance in Sketchbook.
