Commentary

In addition to haiku and tanka, Haiku and Harvest also includes senryu and vanguard haiku. The poems are grouped into seasonal, sequence, and multilingual in English, Spanish, and Tagalog a Philippine language. Scattered in the volume are haiga or picture poems from his sizable collection since 2000.

Susumu Takiguchi, Chairman of World Haiku Club and Editor of its World Haiku Review, wrote the Haiku Introduction. Marjorie Buettner, tanka and haiku poet, author, and eminent reviewer introduced the Tanka Chapter. Ashley Wood designed the book cover.

"Victor P. Gendrano's second book, Haiku and Tanka Harvest, is a
journey into the heart and soul of the poet. His poetic works are honest, sincere and, above all, will leave permanent footprints in the reader's heart. From loneliness, heartache, joy, and happiness, this book weaves a tapestry of his life's winding road. Haiku and Tanka Harvest is a must addition to any poet's library".

~Pamela A. Babusci, Editor of Moonbathing: a journal of women's tanka
