Oh Mighty Life

Oh eternal life
you seethe on all sides
flow in the vine
bloom in the grass
sing in the bird
you lift the wings high up
stream in the heart
vibrate a wire on the guitar

you wear the bright stars
in the eye
you stack the brain mass atoms
in the head

oh unspeakable life
you mighty
you love to play with our little lives
as the lightning with the cloud
as the wind with a ship at sea

sometimes you put us
to the Sun's arms
sometimes you capture us
in the lead darkness

Deliberately strayed

I deliberately strayed
there where the time immersed in silence
faded away in an endless sea of pleasantness

there where the dream of the poets and prophets lives
Angels emerge innocent
among those who are not afraid to be naked
transparent

Good People

They are so warm
with their hearts they warm the world
they are so gentle
feeling another's pain
healing the wounded

flowers of goodness they sow
giving the blood that others may live
bone marrow
kidneys

defending the most sacred of human ideals
with their lives
they are the most beautiful hymns that life made

good people
devoted to time and the world

Butterflies Respect Beauty

Bending over a flower
they kiss it by their breath

dazed with the beauty
the butterflies
these wonderful creatures
flutter in air

Admiration

Oh fragrant flower
that the sun is afraid to fondle
I wanted to touch you

and then retreated

maybe my touch
could disturb you

Summer In Split

Through Split streets all day
the Sun is walking
kissing everyone's face
in everyone's pupil
a drop of gold drips
look up the Riva
sit in front of the cafe
drink a cold drink
hear a new Split gossip

bathes in the sea
plays with seagulls
greets the ships coming into the port
wishes a welcome to anyone

when the bells from the belfry of St. Frane ring
calling for an evening Hail Mary
it knows it has to go to dinner after Marjan

flickering by its eyes it flashes light falls
on the parting
wishing its beloved city good night
promising
as soon as morning dawns
it will come again to Split

Whose Breath Is This

From where is the air
given to Earth
to water
to herbs

to you and me

so shallow
tasty
lively

whose breath is this
as nutritious as
the mother's milk
