Flower of Life

Early in the morning
The day scripts its journey
With the garden of hope.
The brightness of smile
Renders streams of happiness
Embodying the dream of life
In every page of blissful flower.
Caressing one and all
They solemnly reflect
The symphony of Godly gift.
They live their lives
For the present
Composing the lyrics of love.
In this garden of joy
Flower of life is ever blooming
Planting poetry of smiles.

~Pravat Kumar Padhy, India

Music Surfs the Waves

Draped in pink satin robes
with lily lace trim,
the choir gather
by the sea at dusk.
Soprano’s under moonlight
alto’s in the shade
voices sprinkle the crisp night air
beneath an ebony sky.

Lilting melodies tangle
with the salty sea breeze,
unravel in the pulse of the waves
fold with the flow of an ever changing tide,
binding them forever
in the surging surf.

~Máire Morrissey-Cummins, Ireland

Tenderly Pink

I look at the flowers
their pink tenderness
arousing love
in me

I put one flower
in a thumb wrinkle
waving it
and whispering
on the left
you love me
on the right
you don't
which side will decide?

I repeat the procedure
now once again
you love me
you don't

the flower
fell down
and tenderly
I hear a sigh
in the deep of
its soul

yes
you love me

~Štefanija Ludvig, CR

Flowers

Bring many colors
Like flowers
In our life
With prayers,
From seasons to festivals.

Make sail for a life,
Like flowers
Those speak of our mind,
Touching sea of colorful coming,
Over morning.

Make gifts of life,
Like flowers,
Hold hands of a sailor,
He takes you to a green land,
You stay there with cheerful living.

~Asim Kumar Paul, India

Flower magic

These flowers
exploding
the colours of love,
my be created
only by the hand
of God.
For our empty hearts
to absorb it
and fulfil itself
with this flowery magic.
by the beauty
of life.

Gratitude

Startling strongly this morning
budding

finally I am a flower

in wonder and joy
kindliness
of this world

sun’s goodness warms me
the dewdrops shine on me
with its trembling hand the wind
invites me to dance

people arrive
saying

isn’t this island of flowers
so soaring
so marvellous
so beautiful
let us give it our gratitude
for adorning this world

~Danica Bartulović, CR

Kaleidoscope

feathers and bikinis:
carnival—
in wheat chain
the scarecrow.

touches on the mirror's gloss:
metameorfoza—
in the wood fibers
moon sonata.

mirror, flowers, lamps and a bag:
Scheherazade—
wicked game of words
in the riddle.

endless waste:
fruitful questions—
at the fifth gate
Song of Songs.

hammers and strings:
piano—
only resonance plate
enhances fire.

children hands:
orchid—
the beautiful Orchis
will be torn by animals?

thirsty giraffes:
well with sweep—
on the stall with watermelons
clones of the moon.

midsummer, everywhere
ikebana—
to go in tough winter
the message of love of flowers!

In All Your Splendor

I could not pass by
the beauty of your unfolding.
Your colors dazzle me
and your perfume even more so.

I see you in all your splendor.
So much you now do render:
a garland of pleasures
woven into lasting love.

What care you took
to prepare for my coming.
Truly a surprise
that pleases me.

Each day we open our eyes
to the sunshine of living.
New gifts with each beginning
to be shared with one another.

How will this day end?
Will we fade away
like blossoms of color
or, come tomorrow, bloom brighter?

~Bernard Gieske, US

You Flowers

I imagine you flowers without petals
Surrendering fragrance still for human heart.
Sepals are crying in quest of the vitals.
Adversity- there without tearing apart.

Tulip, daisy, sunflower, lily and rose
All smile in joy at the beauty of your bloom.
Spruce or pine always here for you to propose
When the pollen is ready to meet the doom.

Poppy yields opium showing optimism.
Roots in the ground long to absorb water
To solace your plant and its organism.
I learn to unite; my envy I slaughter

You flowers never doubt what nature believes
Grateful petals still there caressing green leaves

Melody in the River

White and pink flowers
carve my own blue sky
all day a sweet smell
reminds me of the air
and the rustling of leaves
hidden sighs born
in my heart

The stars are mirrored
every night in the mountain river
white cloud time
flowers pink and white
flourished in the water

The melody of the river
irises
scattered petals tear to pieces
scattered on the shores
Beauty and the deathless dawn of wisdom
life greets

Flirty Smiles

Flirty smiles and dewdrop kisses,
Pearl the fragrance of flowers furled;
In delight of morning's remembrance, of yesterdays,
When under bright light,
The dancing feet of stage performers,
Picked up the beat,
Of brass horns blaring summons,
Across gardens of time;
Time, reproachful as a scolding mother;
Whose sneer vanished the trust of kindergarten stumblers,
Meandering across lifetimes;
Too futuristic to yearn for bigger shoes,
To tap lightly rhythms of cicadas in summer rain;
And winter cold waves,
Soundless as heartaches,
Which only howling winds will fathom to pierce;
Rushing into deep cups of purposeful solvents.

~Gillena Cox, TT
