morning
and the sun’s rays
struggle from behind clouds
to warm the air and awaken
the day

rose canes
bobbing gently
in a cold winter breeze
for a moment it was summer
again

falling
thick, wet and fast
creating a white world
and bringing thoughts of long ago
summer

winter
temperatures
do not intimidate
for under the ice the river
runs free

looking
up through the trees
wanting to find blue sky
struggling to accept a world
in changes

with spring
we saw rebirth
summer a time of growth
fiery was autumn and winter
won’t leave
