Soaring In The Blue

A star
embroidered with light
visions unfolding
in galaxies of ecstasy
I soared
space-bound
cantalouped in sweetness
an aurora
enveloping me
then I discovered
Then I discovered
enveloping me
an aurora
cantalouped in sweetness
space-bound
I soared
in galaxies of ecstasy
visions unfolding
embroidered with light
your heart

The Snowflake Theory

Trust–
energetic when
least expected–
lonesome
when no one is
there.

Top of the ice

Searching for a long time,
split between ice and fire,
tired and alone,
forgeting the way home.

The sound of violins froze
within the shape of my heart,
lost inside Siberian forests
in sunset flames.

Only the eyes were still reaching for you
drifting in the mist
as broken mirrors.

Tracy McPherson, US

Snowflake Pirate

          The snowflake is melting
     burning orange
its perfect shape
     bleeding orange
its unique shape
     blurring orange
           The snowflake was beautiful.

8

Ruth Nott, US

Haiku

fire and ice
crystaline flames—
astonishing beauty

9

Laryalee Fraser, CA

a chill wind
whirled across the garden
slicing into my soul

until

I found a moment
wrapped in the warmth
of your memory

Unititled

a cloud covered sky,
skeletal trees cloaked in snow,
puddles skimmed in ice,
and drifting smoke from chimneys
on this grey day in winter

Haiku

after the funeral
the crochet hook still
in her unfinished doily

february sunset
the unparalleled redness
of the snow

red snow
the sun
above the horizon

winter twilight—
a lone red snowflake
on my pane

12

Cezar-Florian Ciobīcă

Haiku

twilight—
the scent of resin
wrapping the silence
