Reaching

Sometimes,
to simply reach
waiting for a response,
can be the bravest thing to do

The White Gate

The g a te gle a med, white a s bone,
Teeth sp a ced evenly,
Sh a rp, pointed, defending
From life, its hurts, a nd losses…..
To close brings a pe a ce
A solitude th a t numbs.....
Feeling nothing,
Being s a fe from wh a t is outside.
With a price, steep indeed,
Dem a nding everything
For the g a tes protection…..
The cold feel nothing
Alre a dy de a d or perh a ps just dying
In the end it is the s a me
The g a tes close never to open a g a in.
Left a lone in etern a l solitude

So fight for life,
For feeling,
The a bility to feel both jo y a nd p a in;
E a ch h a s its pl a ce
For without one or the other
Only fl a tness rem a ins…..
A listless nothingness,
A repetition of moments
Without color or depth…..
Let in the light
The w a rmth th a t it brings ,
The p a inful growth th a t follows,
The jo urney th a t it is,
Th a t m a kes up our lives,
With it pe a ks a nd v a lleys
Till it ends
