Star Gazing
A climbing vine—
carries star-shaped
wildflowers
Twilight, the glow of street lamps
The young moon cradles Venus
A baby's cry—
rising above the sound
of a CD's lullaby
October 4, 2008
Notes: Re
verse 2 L2: During the month of Ramadan (9th month Islamic
calendar) the Muslim community observes their fast and
abstinence; they look for the new moon slightly to the right of
Venus, as the sign to end their fasting. This year, 2008, they
were able to end their fast and Observe Eid ul Fitr on October
1st as the moon was sighted early in the morning.
