Deep Felt
Emotions and Love
a single wish
of a mass murderer:
mother's pardon
# 05. Keith A. Simmonds, TT
I found this to be a
very deep seeded poem. It shows the impact of people and
emotions / and it is not just the law that has the final impact.
The question mark at the end puts it to the reader: is it
possible / could it happen or is it rather audacious of the
guilty to ask for such a thing?
fall wind blowing
blooming flowers in full color
cat stalks graveyard
# 09. A. D. Winans, US
This is interesting
as we can walk with the poet and see what he sees
and feels to some extent. The wind blowing, shows movement,
moving on, the flowers in full color at their highest peak of
beauty, will soon begin to fade and be there no more. The cat, a
very patient animal, stalks the graveyard, waiting,
watching...and is said to have nine lives; this juxtaposition
gives the haiku a bit of a twist.
white lilies
in granite pots—
mothers
# 13. Karen O'Leary, US
Another very
interesting poem, in the fact of the lily's purity of it's
whiteness, or does the white indicate age and wisdom? In granite
pots, are these headstones? Are the lilies at the heads of the
gravestones? Very thought provoking.
the empty chair...
a flood of memories
for mother's day
# 15. Keith A. Simmonds, TT
Again, many readers
can identify with this poem—different
memories for each held within the chair.
together
we planted seeds
they sprouted
# 20. Gerry Bravi, CA
I love this matter
of fact, direct approach...we make love, and the children
sprouted/as with all of nature.
mother's Day
we have time
to fold the laundry
# 26. Trish Shields, CA
This actually
brought memories back to me of folding clothes, the scent of
them off the line, sun, sleeping on sun dried sheets. So, Trish
has given us each a beautiful Mother's Day verse that
encompasses a direct interaction as well.
maternal feelings—
a little lost girl
tugs at my skirt
# 32. Barbara A Taylor, AU
The strength of
maternal feelings, a helpless child brings such strong feelings,
not only maternal, but paternal feelings as well. You somehow
want to become the child's saviour, maybe that is what it is
really all about—each
of us becoming a sort of saviour / friend to one another.
a pinch of this
and add a dash of that—
cooking with mother
# 33. John Daleiden, US
This is a very nice
haiku by John, it does not only apply to cooking, ...it seems to
be memories, a quick thought of mother's smile...a warm feeling
that suddenly just happens, the feeling of safeness, in the
remedy of a pinch of this and a dash of that. But also a lot of
wisdom in this recipe of life. Most things done in moderation
lead to health and happiness.
pale blue
under the apple tree
egg shell
# 38. Peter Pache, US
This is a vivid
haiku—the
pale blue, the white apple blossoms, and perhaps a robin's egg.
The pale blue ....not the shell is left under the tree, the bird
now born into the world...as with the apple tree...the bite of
the apple, that changed Adam and Eve's world.... A nice
haiku about change.
soccer moms
they used to speak
to each other
# 58. Bill Kenney, US
Yes, been there,
done that. Smile...we all chit chat during the soccer season,
and now we move on to whatever next is on the schedule, ballet
moms, etc, another haiku that shows change, from one scene as we
move on, perhaps we remember all those faces and nod now and
then.
one-way street
a mother and child
look both ways
# 62. Bill Kenney, US
I love this one,
because I think we all do it...and it is just to keep the child
in practice...or is it...how many times have we been on a one
way street without a child and looked both ways....<G>
lonely old woman
with hot tea cup—
the sparrows warblings
# 70. Maria Tirenescu, RO
There is something
about this that I like a lot. It is more the feeling that comes
through, more than anything—hot
tea, warming the insides of this lonely woman, and a sparrow's
song externally. So natural as the earth seems to heal the
spirits of humans.
spinster's family:
an adopted daughter
and a poodle
# 77. Keith A. Simmonds, TT
I like this one, I
think it is the poodle—spinsters
seem to have poodles for some reason ..:) and it is a hybrid
animal, where as the child is adopted; both together with the
spinster seems to make a very interesting family, almost a
children's story in the making.
Mother's birthday...
For the first time
without father
# 87. Vasile Moldovan, RO
Hi Vasile, my
husband who is now passed on, was named Vasil—
sometimes pronounced Basil, meaning here—William
or Bill, we called him Val . :) I took the 'the' out of
the last line, as it makes it more immediate rather than
telling. It is interesting how you used the Mother's Birthday
rather than Mother's Day...as now you have made it birth and
death, beginnings and endings.
A flower’s chalice
full of white petals…
mother’s heart
# 92. Magdalena Dale, RO
This is very
beautiful; here are the different meanings of chalice:
1: a drinking cup:
GOBLET; especially: the
eucharistic cup
2: the cup-shaped interior of a flower
So it could be a
vase, a eucharistic cup, full of white petals / petals of
communion with the mother's heart. Or it could be the cup shaped
interior of the flower representing the flower's center or
heart, the mother also as the center or the heart. The white
petals of an angel's wings / the Madonna. Very pretty and interpretive.
I loved them all
really, I found it interesting the overall feeling I got from
reading the thread. As a whole, the thread represented,
deep felt emotions and love. . .
Thank you for the allowing me the time to comment on your work.
