Wild Orchid

opening

another gate

only this flower

only

one

way

to

look

at

orchid

Look!

blowing

and

blowing

approaching

some

FLOWER!

ancidium

depends

on

root--

red orchid

embracing

first chill

passing

wild

flower

only

moon

Wild orchid

doesn't care

which way wind blows

sudden gust

disturbing

wild orchid

on her hem

opening

spontaneously

tip

of

brush

dipping

into

black

flower

everywhere its fragrance

wild orchid

in the open

its equanimity

wild orchid

giving

all this

attached

to

rock

yellow

orchid

sound of voices

in the grass

some orchid

sudden

what of

its fragrance

some flower in this wild poem

some orchid

adds nothing

subtracts nothing

far beyond

orchid

its wildness

wild orchid

blowing

on rice paper

wild orchid

vibrating

shadow on the snow

wild orchid

meddling

with my mind

I like it best with wine and rain

and no one comes--fire in stove

wild orchid! blowing on rice paper

Ikkyu's

pink

flower

open

ing

a

responsibility

where

sound

goes

orchid

also

some orchid

giving

all this

wild orchid

don't think

just do

wild orchid

bowing

this way

only

one

orchid

stirring

dark clouds

in her hair

white orchid

seen in this light

not so easy

keeping mouth shut

red flower

red moon

no finesse

orchid

its whole life

on rice paper
