Mama's Waterford Vase

A Triolet - Rengay

Rows and rows of Sunflowers sway
Respite threatening clouds and gusting wind

Mimicking the sun, traveling all day

Rows and rows of Sunflowers sway

From dawn to dusk, all work, no play

A centipede inches 'round the petal's rim

Rows and rows of Sunflowers sway

Respite threatening clouds and gusting wind

Does he love me? Petals from a daisy
Following the sun traveling all day
Waiting for a call or is he just lazy?
Does he love me? Petals from a daisy
Letters tied with pink are too hazy
How can I get to him, surely there’s a way
Does he love me? Petals from a daisy
Following the sun traveling all day

A bouquet of buttercups left at the door
Waiting for a call or is he just lazy?
The man of my dreams is dirt-poor

A bouquet of buttercups left at the door

Mama's Waterford vase will lend it's splendor

To his platter of crawfish, Oy Vay! Am I crazy!
A bouquet of buttercups left at the door
Waiting for a call or is he just lazy?

Making a wish … dandelion fluff
The man of my dreams is dirt-poor
Let’s not get mired in all that stuff
Making a wish … dandelion fluff
What we've got is more than enough
Our new house with a yellow door
Making a wish … dandelion fluff
My dream man’s no longer poor

Black-Eyed Susan growing wild and free
Let’s not get mired in all that stuff
This long-stemmed beauty tempting me
Black-Eyed Susan growing wild and free
Greeting sailors returning from sea
I leave her on the coastal bluffs
Black-Eyed Susan growing wild and free
Let’s not get mired in all that stuff

"Queen of the Night" haloed in moonlight
This long
-stemmed beauty haunting me
Homeward-bound this shining white knight
"Queen of the Night" haloed in moonlight

A lonely eagle cries in mid-flight
At dawn, Blossoms close on this desert tree
"Queen of the Night"* haloed in sunlight

"Queen of the Night" is a Night-Blooming Cereus or Night- Blooming Cactus
