Sketchbook

A Writer's Handbook

Haigay*

Max Verhart, NL

"Haigay is the combination of an image and a rengay, like haiga is the combination of image and haiku. There should be some relation between image and rengay, but the relation is preferably rather associative and/or additional (the image as seventh stanza so to speak) than illustrative. The image may be a photo, a drawing, a collage or whatever. No further rules are needed."

Two examples of Haigay are published in the September 2007 Sketchbook: Where the Waves Clash, and  Seeds of Chance
