Book cover:

Marc Thompson is a well-traveled poet whose addresses have
included the Great North and Mid-Atlantic. This volume, however,
concerns itself with the regions of his youth, the sandy,
oil-filled Plains of Oklahoma, and his recent return there. It
is a brief and poignant reminiscence on the old trope of going
home again, performed afresh in haibun and haiku, graffiti and
native song. What we drop by the wayside is as important as what
we keep, and the poet, without belaboring the point, is able to
communicate clearly which is which: the surprise of what he
learns along the way is well worth knowing.
