Fibonnaci

 "Weep not for Me Mother,
in the grave I have life."*

Sharp
glints
of steel.
The wind coos
old prison pigeons.
Cigarettes stucco'd to the ground,
twenty-six years old, three kids and the wife is pregnant.

*from Requiem 1935-1940,"Crucifixion", Anna Akhmatova

Tree Haiku

a lizard rests
in the curve of the sun—
banana leaves

outspoken alto voice
lost in the cool of Snowbells—
a braying jackass
