The winner from each category will be put into a 3
person drawing for
a $1,000 grand prize. The 2 winners not selected for the
grand prize
will receive a "Best of the Northwest" Gift Basket.
Grand

2nd & 3rd
Place: A "Best of the Pacific Northwest" Gift Basket
including smoked salmon, souvenirs and other items
unique to the
Northwest.
Deadline for
entries is June 20, 2011.
Winners will be announced July 15, 2011.

ENTRIES:
Entries must be submitted via the FWEE haiku contest web
page. First
register on the Entry Form page. Complete this form and
you will be
directed to a page to submit your haiku.
RULES:
One haiku entry per person. There is no entry fee.
Entries must be in English.
The haiku must be an original work written by the
entrant and not
previously published.
The first line must be five syllables, the second line
seven
syllables, and the third line five syllables.
Entries must have a direct or indirect reference to
hydropower.
Entries do not require a seasonal reference or use of
the technique of
"cutting".
No entrant can be a member or relative of a FWEE board,
steering
committee or haiku selection committee member.
ELIGIBILITY:
The contest is open to the public. Winning entries for
youth under 18
will have legal guardians contacted by FWEE to assure
permission to
participate and receipt of awards.
DEADLINES:
Entries must be submitted no later than June 20, 2011.
Winners will be
announced on the FWEE website on July 15, 2011.
PUBLICATION:
By entering, the writer grants FWEE full rights to
reproduce and
distribute their haiku poem without limitation or any
compensation
beyond that of any prize that may be awarded.
