Abstract

Something about shapes and colors,
the number?──close to infinity.
Only time can declare what
number has been reached.

Meanwhile we puzzle play just to see
how they can make a difference──
or simply juxtapose──Are they
already determined and merely to be arranged?

By what mind?──That, of course,
specifies the difference.
You & I will never see them the same──
Equality or equity has no place.

What is left out is just as important
as what is there for us to view.
Can we see what is not there?
In the mind’s background, is there
some relationship the mind uses to compare?

We might speak or think of parts──
but it is the whole that is to be perceived.
And what is that?──
In reality it may be nothing
or simply something in our minds.

Denice Bizot worked as a drafter for15 years in the petroleum industry. She then decided to become a metal sculptor using found objects. She does not begin with any preliminary sketches but lets an unusual piece of found metal inspire her with an intuitive flow combining form, texture and palette. She finds this approach challenging and at the same time developing into her own artisan style. Many of her pieces such as handmade tables and birdhouses are functional. She lives in Chattanooga, TN.
