Haiku

Radhey Shiam, IN

after dust and heat
the earth invites
rain and dark clouds

the priest requests me
to associate with him
in the diwali celebration

the jilted lover
throws the invitation card
in the drain

heaps of invitation cards
heaps of presents
no wonder

dancing hall
the lady wants some one
to invite her company

boarding the train
she prayed me
to accompany her

she will call on me
and pray to join
the picnic next sunday

the wedding bell rings
the groom waits at home
for a call

remarriage
invitation card
to the divorcee

first invitation cards
then cancellation
a riddle

beggars visit the town
move door to door
without invitation

Indian wedding
the priest is absent
lull in the hall

pregnant lady
at the hospital
no nurse no doctor

a lot of invitation cards
remained undistributed
a few at the wedding

religious conference
a prostitute delivers a speech
in guise of a saint
