Haiku
garbage tip
seagulls
littering the sky
evening
chill
the heron dives
into itself
after
the quake
the neighbour's door
always open
after the quake
a spider web
clings to a branch
autumn dusk
another apple
falls off the tree
meditation
deepening
the scent of jasmine
dusk
the sound of a currawong
who else is listening?
cloudy
night
the hotel chandelier
twinkles
day
and night
the same old questions
over and over
first snow—
curling her fingers
around the empty cup
