Music Surfs the Waves

Draped in pink satin robes
with lily lace trim,
the choir gather
by the sea at dusk.
Soprano’s under moonlight
alto’s in the shade
voices sprinkle the crisp night air
beneath an ebony sky.

Lilting melodies tangle
with the salty sea breeze,
unravel in the pulse of the waves
fold with the flow of an ever changing tide,
binding them forever
in the surging surf.

I look at the flowers
their pink tenderness
arousing love
in me

I put one flower
in a thumb wrinkle
waving it
and whispering
on the left
you love me
on the right
you don't
which side will decide?

I repeat the procedure
now once again
you love me

I hear a sigh
in the deep of
its soul

I could not pass by
the beauty of your unfolding.
Your colors dazzle me
and your perfume even more so.

I see you in all your splendor.
So much you now do render:
a garland of pleasures
woven into lasting love.

What care you took
to prepare for my coming.
Truly a surprise
that pleases me.

Each day we open our eyes
to the sunshine of living.
New gifts with each beginning
to be shared with one another.

How will this day end?
Will we fade away
like blossoms of color
or, come tomorrow, bloom brighter?

Poppy yields opium showing optimism.
Roots in the ground long to absorb water
To solace your plant and its organism.
