an owl’s screech
claims the chilly night
wind in the reeds

~

the pumpkin
queen in the garden
corner

~
autumn's close
the crunch underfoot
of discarded condom wrappers

~
morning air
crisp and thin
sliced apple

~
first storm
pair of crows curve
their wings

~

autumn evening
a frog chorus
breaks open the night

~

autumn wind
I have a sudden urge
to buy school supplies

~

washing day
folding golden sunshine
into my sheets

~

tree after tree
image of devout surrender
falling leaves

~

call of geese
over my parents' house
the past, out of reach

~

woodpecker at work
carpenter makes crib
for baby in wife's womb

~

autumn wind in the reeds
clapping waves
on the shore

~

first autumn storm
pounding the house
I ponder Yeats

~

Muddy corn field,
They planting paddy saplings,
Autumn is coming.

~

raking leaves…
omitting check marks
in the checklist

~
autumn dusk
I return with floating
shadows

~
crescent moon
I trace the outline
of his scar

~

chilly night
houses huddle
down in the valley

~

woodpecker at work
carpenter makes crib
for baby in wife's womb

~
rice sparrows
the field springs to
new life

~
autumn wind
haunting the chimney—
soot fall

~
autumn dusk
not knowing
how to say goodbye

~

chilly night
zipped up as we walk
to Vespers

~

remaining heat
anger on
her beautiful face

~

plaintive call of the loon
through the mist
long night

~

remembering dad—
this time of year his pockets
were full of hazel nuts

~

long night
newly weds plant
more stars

~
persimmon jelly
on sourdough toast
oh my puckered lips

~

Rain drops falling,
Sunrays peep through mackerel clouds
Rainbow in the sky.

~

autumn winds follow
a path to the stars
night of dreams

~

monarch butterfly
gymnast glides
with ring

~
peeling away
layers of memories--
autumn loneliness

~

her hands move
between teaglass and pot
leaf month

~

willow leaves fall
a whisper of your voice
in this bright space

~
children in
hunting for red leaves…
restless joy

~

such tall oak—
unintentionally
I crushed an acorn

~

autumn's voice
in the golden afternoon
the empty swing set

~

after the rain
a troop of mushrooms
surround the tree

~

under the trellis—
first touch of pink
on green grapes

~

fallen leaves
searching through the litter
for my ring

~

drifting
on a thread of cloud
full moon

~

scarecrow’s sleeves…
hidden crickets creak
out of them

~

I end
that fight between my kids ...
remaining heat

~

Hwaet!
disembodied ghost
or day-time moon?

~
catching dragonflies
the net full
of your freshly washed hair

~

They are making idols,
Always worship in autumn
Devi Durga coming home.

~

apple harvest
recalling the colour
of his eyes

~

rock concert
a soul jumps out of its body
remaining heat

~
OH to be brave traveler
To walk on sunshine in autumn sky,
On a white-cloud-board.

~
born out of night's womb
the moon casting down beams
over the reaped fields

~
