Haiku
bluejay on a limb
perches, calls, listens, lifts—
a child prays to his iPhone
wind shakes the magnolia
petals fall
an aphid swims in the tea
February 15
two cigarette butts
floating in a bottle of wine
empty beer cans
after a long winter, strung together
anything can be windchimes
on the pond, a
woodduck
lands, quacks at the bobbing
duck made of wood near the briar
