On seeing you again

the Big Island
the aina and the ohana
hearts smile
there are no words that truly convey
the blue of a Big Island sky
the scent of rain
Plumeria in bloom
a thousand shades of green
surf here
waterfalls there
sugar shacks
coffee shacks
Aina and Ohana
while my heart knows all the pictures
the words fly away
like laughter on wings of soul

Sorrow

Sorrow go away
I feel you there
draped in purple and gray
dancing on the edge of my heart
weaving through my dreams
touching every soft and tender part
you have stolen my night
Do not darken my day.
