Pirouette Poem*

First Love

You promised me your love
Like a heavenly gift
Then last night you walked out
Saying you'd changed your mind
I swam in tears of pain

I swam in tears of pain
You had stolen my heart
Then crushed it wantonly
Leaving me to handle
My regrets all alone...

A Pirouette Poem* is a ten line poem written with two five line verses which are always separated by at least one or two spaces. Each line must be of only six syllables and the poem cannot rhyme (from Poetry Soup; AuthorSpot).
