Forty Days


blue tit

pruned oak
till spring

dawn gold
weeping willow
coming into leaf

spring field
divided by a road
crossed by a weasel

grass stirs
tall clouds

distant thunder
wind turbines
turning obediently

the underbelly
of those bright
April clouds

drenching rain
pig field deserted

sun after showers
the ploughed field

I live in Norfolk in the UK with my family and dogs. After a long interest in poetry I have become fascinated with haiku and senryu over the last year.
