Haiku Sequence

Forty Days

blue tit
pitying
winter

pruned oak
disfigured
till spring

dawn gold
weeping willow
coming into leaf

spring field
divided by a road
crossed by a weasel

glittering
grass stirs
tall clouds

distant thunder
wind turbines
turning obediently

the underbelly
of those bright
April clouds

drenching rain
pig field deserted
sheds

sun after showers
the ploughed field
glints

About Robert Davey, UK

I live in Norfolk in the UK with my family and dogs. After a long interest in poetry I have become fascinated with haiku and senryu over the last year. I do a lot of driving and the counties of East Anglia are an endless source of inspiration for me. I have had haiku accepted for publication in Blithe Spirit and Presence. My website addresss: http://spinglespong.wordpress.com

This is Robert Davey's first appearance in Sketchbook.
