Ruminations of the artist...

here are a couple of kind of strange new drawings.... the first is a ballpoint pen seascape... as some of you know, i have been writing some brief prose and poetry about my childhood lately... as a child, i loved to draw ships i copied out of the encyclopedia... i was sketching with my ballpoint pen a few days ago and got to wondering what would happen if i tried to draw one of those ships today... just making it up... so i gave it a try... it is surprisingly hard to make a convincing illusion of the ocean with a ballpoint pen... but, i thoroughly enjoyed the attempt... the other piece is an ink landscape... i have always included trees in my drawings and in this case, the trees took over... although some say they can see a face in this drawing... hmmm
