Free Verse
Because I
Remember
exactly how it
happened, how
it smelled, the noise it made,
I am bound.
I want things to come alone.
Just this bird singing and me
saying this for the first time.
Negatives
I like the negative
stereotype you have of yourself.
Saying you might be wrong when you think you're right.
Dancing black when you know you're white.
Being kind.
Winter's
Ocean
Winter's ocean:
a slick table
Vermillion waves roll in like scrolls
Above birds soar; below a whale
Haiku
Perched in
scents of trees
Jumping octaves and branches
Spring birds escape words
