Tremble

Do all hearts tremble before love,
a force pure and true,
one so deep that any heart would break,
and then after that sundering,
healing again in a deeper place.

Perhaps eternity is spent in amazement
at this wondrous reality,
so hard for those with hearts of stone
to understand, though sought,
in worldly deserts
were only thirst is the reward,

Pain hounds the soul that seeks,
unable to kill the inner longing
no matter what route taken,
endless frustration,
no rest until what is found
what our hears seek all along;
love experienced
as infinite fire,
heaven for those who seek,
while those who fight and reject,
love experienced as searing pain,
without the sundering
of the heart.
