Graveyard

wreaths and flowers piled high
beneath lies a cask of wood
with his last remains

she watches from afar
until the last mourner leaves
and darkness falls

ifs and buts begin
to torture her disturbed mind
her lover is dead

no one sympathises
with her, it was their secret
not to be divulged

she has lived with it
for years, unquestioningly
sad memories

now she walks alone
to drop a rose on the grave
her farewell gesture
