Ashes

I watched
the sky burn down
tonight

red flames
racing across clear blueness
leaving blue-white embers
smoking purple
behind them

and when the fire died
for lack of air to burn
the space left behind
was charred black

Berceuse

father,
cradle your daughter gently
(lightly)
and float her mind.

world,
let go
the sleepy one.

Concert

an upsweep is all
but from behind and rushing
snapping from sensations
to one point suspended

beyond bars of red space
and cones of smoke
it rests, wings splayed,
leathery and persuasive
ready to steal

as surely as the air evolves
it knows
it is dimension
