Windmills

strange alien forms
silently cart wheeling
across a desert ridge

Reflections on Savannah

Sweet magnolias
Oak trees draped in Spanish Moss
not Spanish and not moss
lovely none the less
the city is beautiful
and charmingly hospitable
ladies still flirt and fan
then declare prudish vapors
Southern gentlemen are gentlemen
and Yankees are still treated
as Damn Yankees
the Civil war is not over

Coronado

There’s a warm wind tonight
makes me think of that old
song by Journey and You.
Sand was warm on the dunes
I walked barefoot at sunset.
there you are, smiling
and embracing me
laughter and passion
in your eyes
your essence pours through me
there’s a warm wind
blowin' the stars around
