Cinquain

Pamela Pignataro, US

Humble Light

Red stars
a light among
debris of fallen trees
in shade, the meek provide their own
soft glow

Three Autumn Cinquains

red leaves
assemble now
among the trees; each night
the weary sun slips earlier
away

Venus,
bright this morning
in storm-cleared skies, listens
to the echoed sighs of dead leaves
falling

when night
comes dreaming in
on chilly, wood-smoked air,
crickets sing their farewell song to
summer
