Independence Day Haiku

Independence Day
carries new dawns to bosoms—
rivers of people

Independence Day—
only one sun warms
faces of all colors

a fluttering flag—
the wind plunders freedom
over the fire of battle

out stretched arms—
a merry gaze flies off
on a bird's wings

screams of freedom—
in front of a warrior's bust
the masses stop
