Ekphrastic Poem -
Acrostic: The Red Shawl
Bernard Gieske, US - Poet
There is
that scene in my mind’s eye
Half a century ago when my
Every heartbeat rang loud. I
Reeled in star-studded whirlpools of
Ethereal waters secluded in a shaded
cove
Dancing around with my new-found love.
Seaweed entangled me in searching
ecstasy.
Heartbeat to heartbeat you guided me
Along a new path through a labyrinthian
sea.
What was it about you that kept
encompassing me?
Love is just one life-long voyage of
mystery.
