Moonbathing: A Journal of Women's Tanka   Moonbathing now open for submissions for Issue 2 Thursday, March 18, 2010   Dear Tanka Poets, I will be having surgery done on April 16th ( a total hysterectomy) and probably will out of commission for a week or two. Therefore, I am now accepting tanka submissions for the second issue of Moonbathing. I will get back to you with my decisions in a timely manner. If submitting now is not convenient for you, I will still be honoring the May 1st deadline. The second issue of Moonbathing will be a larger issue including more tanka poets from around the world. Looking forward to reading your tanka submissions (you can submit up to 10 tanka for consideration). If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me. Moonbathing will publish two issues a year: Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer. SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: Moonbathing will feature only women poets. Send a maximum of five (5) tanka per submission period. Submission deadlines: Fall/Winter Issue: In-hand Deadline: November 1st. Fall/winter or non-seasonal themes only. Spring/Summer Issue: In-hand Deadline: May 1st. Spring/summer or non-seasonal themes only. No previously published tanka or simultaneous submissions; no tanka that has been posted on-line, whether on a personal website/blog or on a tanka discussion group; and no publicly workshopped tanka will be considered or accepted. Moonbathing is seeking to recognize, honor, and praise the unique "female voice" and perspective in tanka. The Editor is excited about being the first women editor to offer this type of literary venue to female tanka poets, and hope all women poets will feel honored and enthusiastic as well. PAYMENT: Unfortunately, at this time the Editor will not be able to provide contributors’ copies. Donations are most welcome. Due to the current economic situation I hope that all tanka poets who have their work accepted will support Moonbathing by purchasing a copy or a subscription.
