Celebrating Mother's Day May 9, 2010

Mother's Day
I glance on her pictures
last summer

Mother's Day
missing her pot roast
and coleslaw

Mother's Day
from a long distance call
her assuring words

Mother's Day
chocolate cake and ice cream
for my adviser

Mother's Day
this time, dropping by
to stay for dinner

Haiku

summer heat...
a pair of birds perched
in their private world

springtime...
a robin's lair
remains hidden

early spring...
flowers so bright
for the taking

on a weekend...
the smiling faces
in the farm

noon breeze...
not a single surfer
to catch the waves

winter trip
Belgian chocolates
from a friend's pocket

lily pond
fond memories settles
where I left

early break
wafer sticks taken out
from a cookie jar

winter trip
in a keychain is attached
a child peeing

springtime...
a friend sitting all alone
on the bench
