Celebrating Mother's Day May 9, 2010

Written by Mary Lou O'Brien, to her husband, Harold K. (Obie) O'Brien, shortly after their wedding on 6/11/40.

To Obie

f I could hold forever in my heart
Each loving glance,
Each thing you smiled upon
I wouldn't dream the thought that we must part.
When day is done.

If I could keep the warmth of every kiss,
Each fond embrace
And all the joy we knew . . .
Could I but have the mem'ry of all this
When day is thru.

Then all the pain of parting from you, dear,
Would swiftly fade,
Would quickly pass away.
And in each dream of mine you'd reappear
At close of day.

Submitted posthumously in remembrance by her son, J. Ward (Obie) O'Brien. Mary Lou O'Brien passed away on 3/29/10.
