Walking alone on Halloween
I pass the windows of a diner
Its patrons illuminated in a
Warm, golden light:
A family of insects, antennas
Jiggling with glee
A werewolf prepares a
Burger for consumption
Quasimodo in a wheelchair
Turning menacingly in circles
Outside
Hoards of Mexican children
Dressed as skeletons and princesses
Manic hispanics already jonesing
For the next sugar high
