each successive ripple builds
to a wave
a handful of sand shifts in the tide /gb
finger clouds
point the way to the sea
as tundra swans gather
to fly inland /js
Tchaikovsky drifts
outside the music hall
a conductor's stick
traces constellations
to the cadent march
of toy soldiers /b'oki
a tiny avalanche gathers momentum
the cliff road pocked by fallen stone /cm
almost home—
through the car window
the familiar scent
of freshly cut hay /lf
hot winds—
from a swinging rope
a boy jumps
over her laughter
into
the setting sun /mle
wafting aromatic scents meet me at the gate
heart...hearth...memories embrace my journey'd end /man
impassive faces
in its glass shaft
the elevator door
closes softly /lp
unwinding
a cocoon's light
long threads—
an hour
given to love
of emptiness /mmcc
