floating
in amniotic tides
I wash
toward passage through
a yellow moon
the worm
of corruption
in a kiss—
the flashing brow
vague and fleeting
white deer,
are you the dead?
mist movers,
perfumers marking
deep forest trees?
I would walk
through the snow to
the cliff’s edge—
a young man dashed
on the rocks below
