One September Affairs
reiterates here in Trinidad not as Director William
Dieterle, oldie romance but rather as The Trinidad and
Tobago Film Festival at Movietowne. This year the fourth
anniversary of the festival ran from the 16th to the 29th.
Here we got to see again trinis at their best, in the
business of the screen play. 09 Awards went to :
Best film: Carmen and Geoffrey, directed by Nick
Doob and Linda Atkinson
Best Trinidad & Tobago film: The Solitary
Alchemist, directed by Mariel Brown
People's choice award, best feature film: The Ghost
of Hing King Estate, directed by Horace Ové
People's choice award, best documentary: Mas Man,
directed by Dalton Narine
People's choice award, best short: Coolie Pink and
Green, directed by Patricia Mohammed
I sat in on two good ones 'The Solitary Alchemist' and
'Made in Queens'
