"Minimal Poems"

It would take a very small Vampire...

to find out
if a hummingbird's
blood
is sweet.

At the End of Frustration

                           the Mob Demanded...

Give me a wand–
There are things
in need of change
and the only avenue
left
is magic...

Crossing Nevada
I-80, Lovelock to Winnemucca
Mid-July

Not many
boats
on the highway...

A Gentle Start

A brush of the lips,
not quite a kiss,
as she turns her face
to his shoulder,
wishes a good morning
and ask if he'd like
a cup of tea...

How I Write Poems

From my work window
I watched a yellow
butterfly
bounce around
the backyard,
finally landing
on a little pink flower
she planted
the year before.

Later that evening
I thanked her.
She wanted to know
for what?

I told her
it was between me
and a yellow butterfly.
