Haiku
I mow grass
the neighbor's goat
munches and nods
jelly jar
bouquet
the neighbor's daisies—
plucked
split rail
fence
zig-zag stitches
up the mountainside
a bird's
nest
two broken eggs
no song
sheets hung to
dry
tonight
I smell sunshine
a row of
sparrows
white washing
the picket fence
behind the
yellow hammer's
rat-a-tat
the traffic's hum
at the
center
of the daffodil—
more yellow
reel and tug
tug and reel
the pelican's bill—full
sun on her
shoulders
she pedals into
the bike's shadow
