Caribbean Kigo Kukai #05     The Kukai - a haiku contest, where each person submits a haiku, and then, becomes a judge. When all the poems are compiled in a list, the contestants comment, vote, and give scores to poems of their choice. One cannot comment on, nor vote for one’s own poem. At the end of the voting process winners emerge, the selection based on votes by the kukai’s contestants.   Caribbean Kigo Kukai #05   Dear haiku friends you are invited to participate in The Caribbean Kigo fifth Kukai. The Kigo is Summer Vacation. Send one haiku which includes Summer Vacation to gillenacox@tstt.net.tt Example:- summer vacation- painting funny faces at camp --gillena cox How does summer vacation enter the everyday conversation of the average Trini, when in our part of the globe we do not experiences the seasons of Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter? Well, the concept has its own definition for the Caribbean.  In T&T. ‘Summer vacation’ is the longest school break for the year, and it’s the fore runner to new beginnings for many.  Eleven to twelve year olds  would have received their results of SEA an entrance exam into secondary schools, they can now exhale, and go to camps, malls, or be packed off on overseas visits to friends and relatives where there are real summer climes; or,  play host to friends and relatives from abroad who come to vacation with them.   Deadline for sending entries is July 10th 2009 Deadline for sending votes is   July 20st 2009 A voting list will be e-mailed to all players Voting: Votes to be scored using a total of 6pts Example:- Haiku#76………3pts Haiku#34………2pts Haiku#8……..…1pt Comments are encouraged but must be limited to 3 lines When published votes and comments will be given anonymous listings.   Ballots to be sent to gillenacox@tstt.net.tt A list of haiku and results will be published online at Caribbean Kigo Kukai http://caribbeankigo.pbwiki.com/Caribbean-Kigo-Kukai-Results    much love gillena
