Gustav Causes
Mass Evacuation
As the
Sketchbook editors are putting the final touches on the
August 31 issue Hurricane Gustav is creating havoc in the
Caribbean. As of August 29 Gustav is predicted to make landfall
some where in the vicinity of Louisiana. New Orleans Mayor
Ray Nagin has ordered a mass evacuation.
A hurricane warning
is in effect for more than 500 miles of the Gulf Coast from
Cameron, LA, near the Texas border to the Alabama-Florida state
line.
I have had constant
telephone communication with Editor, Karina Klesko and for the
past few days. The KIesko family, like so many other families
have secured their homes and are now in the process of
evacuating to safety before the hurricane makes landfall.
Karina will complete
this column as soon as time and circumstances allow.
Please check back.
