to be a hero

It was the annual
Christmas Party
at the Yukon
also known as "The
First Church of
What's Happening Now"
(Probably known as first church
cause some folks
attend happy hour religiously)
we shared laughter
and went our separate ways
later you walked into the party
and sat on the floor
in front of me
you picked up my bare feet
and began massaging them
I gave you a questioning look
"What's this all about"?
I'm tired of little girls, you said
"are you ready for a woman?"
I asked.
You followed me home,
stayed for two years then said
"what are you doing December 29th?"
What? Let's get married, you said
It had been soo good
I knew it was a lifetime thing
you were
my Knight in Shining Armor
then somewhere along
the line you began
rescuing little girls, damsels
in distress, drugged out ho's,
fragile flowers and gameplayers
leaving me to walk down
the muddy jeep trail after dark
in the rain. No umbrella,
where was the shelter of your arms?
No light except my insight
I stumbled in the door
muddy, rain pouring
from my clothes,
no one
could see the tears
"oh, I fell asleep",
you said
and I knew you
would never be
strong enough
for a woman.
you need
to rescue
fragile
flowers
to be
a hero

The Full Moon

the full moon
has come to pass
and with it
the memory
of love lost
love hoped for
Desire
for true love
Damn
I just wanna
get laid
(pssst!!!)
Got
C batteries?
hahahahahahaha

oh wavering spirit

The moon
is on the wane
and my heart
is longing
for things
that could
have been
or may
yet come
to be
do not
surrender
to despair
oh wavering Spirit
the fat lady
hasn't sung
her song yet
yuk yuk yuk

Betrayal

it cuts like
a knife
blade of ice
the cold
goes through
the soul
leaving
frozen
tears

Soul Man vs Integrity

I look up at you
and I see
the stars
of a thousand galaxies
in your eyes
your arms hold
the promise
of love that
has survived
through
a multitude
of universes
every fiber
of my being
longs to be there
you have a woman
I can't cross that line
