News and Update

Karina Klesko

Hello All,

Well this is my two months of rest—I must have been dreaming!  The Sketchbook was very active over the summer months. In contrast, The OutlawPoets groups have been rather quiet while people are on vacations.

There are so many things coming up for the Sketchbook this fall!

A. D. Winans has his six CDs—a six pack of poetry that is being mastered at
the studio. The first to be releases at the end of August.

That's pretty exciting.

R D. Armstrong has several new books on line of his own and hot off
his press, including one of our favorite Poets Pris Campbell. All can be viewed on our July 2008 Contents Page.

Helen Bar-Lev, Aju Mukhopadhyay, and Jeff Spahr-Summers have wonderful new articles from our Global section. Check out the News from Helen.

The Haiga submissions are spectacular. I am forever in awe of the talent and
creativity that goes into the various styles of haiga!

The July issue has Great Poetry from both sides, eastern and western free verse writers.

Sketchbook  Cafe

Ed Baker always has something interesting for us from his collection. Need a bee in your bonnet? A whole collection of Ed Baker signed Poems is available at Sketchbook Cafe—a bee in your 'thong' to keep you moving on those slow days!

I love the doggie shirt and barbecue apron!  And the Wall Clock is another favorite of mine.

The Cafe is still in the process of getting it 'together'  Visit us at the Sketchbook Cafe. I was thinking of having a...mug -o-thon. WE will have a section that will have everyone's mug on a cup...for the holidays--it will be all in place to send to your friends and admirers.

What do you think ?

Authors will have to send in a photo they would want their friends to have on a coffee mug and wake up to each morning....no nudes ...please...smile... Send your favorite photo in 300dpi no larger than 500 X 500 pixels as an jpg attachment to mig0thon@poetrywriting.org

But we wanted you to see this. All the products are of high end retail store quality.
All are signed and collectable.

We have merged with Sound Streettracks from New Orleans for our Audio Poetry.

Looking Ahead

Jayne and Betty Kaplan have a children's book upcoming and it will be previewed in our August Issue, Childwriters.

Also Jayne Kaplan, our resident counsel and friendly attorney at law, will be discussing briefly copyright and the advantages of filing with the copyright office.

We will be launching ....Shanna's Beat Section in the September Issue and we will show a little bit about it in the August Issue and give the guidelines.

ALSO PLEASE VISIT MYSPACE:  www.myspace.com/karina3884

Be patient as it does take time to load...if you do not like the music just scroll down the left hand side and click it to pause or off.

HERE I HAVE ALL THE SKETCHBOOK COVERS IN A NICE SLIDESHOW.....LOVE THEM

IF YOU ARE A MEMBER, BE MY FRIEND...IF YOU ARE NOT SIGN UP AS IT IS FREE AND I AM REALLY ENJOYING IT NOW. I JUST GOT ACTIVE IN IT IN THE LAST MONTH.

I WOULD LIKE MORE EASTERN WRITERS ON MY FRIENDS LIST, AS I AM WONDERING IF THEY ARE ALL ON FACEBOOK !!!!

ALAN SUMMERS SAYS THERE ARE A LOT OF EASTERN WRITERS SO CHECK HIM OUT ON MY FRIENDS LIST.

WE WILL POST BOTH THE LINKS TO MYSPACE AND THE SKETCHBOOK CAFE ON www.poetrywriging.org  and the Sketchbook index page.

Also Global Visions Press and Valley View Press as well as the Little Red Book Press,  WILL BE ABLE TO ASSIST YOU WITH YOUR PUBLISHING NEEDS.

Global Visions will have poetry pockets for poetry readings, which will enclose some favorite signed poems from the reading or poet. That will be available. Inquiry's pre-stuffed or plain. gbv@poetrywriting.org

That is the news and update!!
