We lived in a
marvelous world
Of make-believe. What a charade!
Differences seemed to disappear
With dissimulation and deceit,
Prevarication, alienation from
Cherished ones, parents, family,
Friends! As she took the initiative,
The contorted configurations of
Her tortuous desires besieged my heart
And asphyxiated our relationship.
Love grew obsessive, dependent,
Unconditional, hopelessly obtrusive,
Monstrously egoistic, devastating
Like a raging, decimating, tropical
Storm leaving, in its wake, insidious
Hurt, pain, torture, torment, gnawing angst!
When, for another, she turned me away,
Leaving me with battered mind,
Wounded heart, bruised soul, and
Splintered will, my world shattered, like
A mirror, into a thousand kaleidoscopic
Pieces, each a merciless reflection of
My agony. I floundered on a desolate
Ocean of dark, deep depression, dangling
Precariously on the trenchant edge of
Insanity! Yet, I crawled back to Delilah
Like a drunkard to his empty bottle,
Like a worthless cur to his vomit!
Then, suddenly, I saw the light,
Resplendent, revealing, realistic,
Renascent! I was delivered from
The bondage of the illusion of true love!
My spirit, unshackled, soars now on
Lofty, golden wings of beauty, peace
And harmony! The sky is the limit!
The past is but a swift arrow, broken
In flight, a stray , hideous memory
In the desert of disillusionment!

Nature
When spring departs,
laughing,
Summer's bright, golden warmth
Arrives, clad in sunshine's delicious,
Ornamental rays and colors!
I hear the soft,
serene, silky
Sea serenading sentimental souls,
Scintillating, smiling with delicate,
Glowing waves of sizzling light.
Trees sway, clothed
in warm
Vestments of enamoured leaves,
Shielding branches against
Freezing breeze and heavy snow!
Mankind, stripped of
precious love,
Is like winter's trees, bare, leafless,
Shivering in the harsh, bitter cold,
Waiting to be draped in cosy affection!
