Shades Of Green
variegated leaves,
I look down on the tree tops—
shades of green
suddenly I find my son
is graying at the temples
pouring cream—
I watch as my coffee turns
the color I like
fading pink dawn—
the first tomatoes
with a bloom
in the garden, a lizard
becomes part of a bush
thinking of Eve
the way she moves me
when she blushes
