Dishonest Scales*

the search
for deductions
on his Schedule A
she weighs in with her diet group,
lighter

Tanka

naked
as once Eve
but I am a blob—
where's the leaf to cover
this tropical paradise?

 

 

he stands alone,
wears a straw hat to match
the thatched huts—
bay boats bob and bob
